1951 SERIES "C" VINCENT BLACK SHADOWH.V.G. Restoration, numbers "matching"
This SHADOW came to us fifteen years ago, at a time when more original parts were still to be had and we went over it from the crankpin out. Our finest level of work went into this Shadow. Since then, less than 200 miles have been enjoyed on it. Many collectors regard the "C" Series Black Shadow as THE Vincent to have.
The customer has enjoyed it but it has seen more eyeball wear than actual road use! Capable of winning shows, itís also capable of giving great service as a rider.
I canít say enough good things about this Shadow! We will have the numbers and some images to add shortly. BTW, she is named, "Lucille" and I donít know the story as to why that name. She is priced at less than the cost to buy and restore one like it today.

VINCENT RED/BLACK TOURING RAPIDE"HELL BOY"
It is believed Vincent produced 17 or fewer of these, which I consider the most elegant Vincent produced by the factory. This particular one was restored fully by HVG and is almost completely an original bike, ie, the forks, tank, engine cases all came on this bike originally. It has won concourse díElegance all over the country. Starts and runs well. One of seventeen, it has copies of the Works docs showing it to be an authentic Red/Black Touring. It even has its original license plate from in the day. Its owner has christened it, "HELL BOY".
HBís show credentials include:
- DelMar Concourse, BEST OF SHOW
- Best Vincent at OWEN Sound, Sept., 2015
- Radnor Hunt Concourse, Philadelphia, Pa, BEST VINCENT
VINCENT FIFTIES STREET RACERThe "WOODWARD AVENUE" VINCENT
"Great bikes have great stories," the wise man said. This Vincent has a great story! The link will lead you to the recent article, the cover story in the Sept/ Oct 2016 issue of MOTORCYCLE CLASSICS and how the terror of Woodward Avenue in Detroit back "in the day" left an undying impression on a young man who grew to be an important figure in vintage bikes and his search for this legendary street-racing Vincent.
H.V.G. undertook the complete restoration of this long-lost Vincent to its racer guise from the Fifties and Sixties in the Motor City. Customized for racing, it's loud, it's bad and it's fast. Racing upgrades here and there, but just donít tell anyone it has an electric starter fitted to make life simpler for its new owner.
This is not a matching numbers bike. It's built to have fun on and get into trouble on. The cover bike in the magazine, it is very special and now once again, very famous. Are you bad enough to have this one?
